Agglomerate Cork

Agglomerate corks are made by gluing granulated cork together. The mixture is then molded or extruded into shape. Manufacturers recommend that this style of cork is only used for short term storage.

Technical Corks

Technical corks refer to the various manufactured cork closures that are available. The idea here is that one or two cork disks are glued to the one or both ends of an agglomerate cork, thus reducing the amount of glue that contacts the wine.

Capsulated Cork

According to Real Cork "capsulated corks are natural (or colmated) cork stoppers with a wooden, PVC, porcelain, metal, glass or other material bonded onto the top of the cork."
