ProCork

This is a natural cork that has an impervious membrane coating the end to prevent cork taint from reaching the wine. According to the manufacturers, the membrane consists of 5 layers. From closest to the cork the layers are

  1. TCA Adsorber Layer
  2. Micro-Oxygen Control Layer
  3. Moisture retainer layer
  4. Olephilic Layer
  5. Hydrophilic Layer

There are many different quality levels available, which appear to be dependant on the quality of the cork used.
