Stelvin Closure

Stelvin is a proprietary brand of screw top closure for wine bottles. As the originator of the concept, the term Stelvin has taken on a generic component, and is often used (incorrectly) to refer to all screw top wine closures.

The liner inside a stelvin closure is made of polyvinylidene chloride. This can be adapted to a winemakers needs. In effect, the level of oxygen permeability can be selected.
