Wine and Food Society of Western Australia

Chez Pierre

30 November 2010

For the second year running, Chez Pierre hosted the societies christmas dinner. This was an opportunity to serve some really interesting and special wines to celebrate. The food was excellent and the wines varied.

Whilst drinking Crystal is always a treat, the highlight for me was the Macon Clesse. Here was a fourteen year old chardonnay that drank as fresh as a daisy, with enough complexity to challenge a top burgundy.

The aim of the night was to serve members outstanding value with the Crystal alone accounting for a high proportion of the money allocated to wine.

N.B. The Charles Elner was disappointing for the bottle variation and the number of cork tainted wines was unacceptable.
